Short shifter!!!!

So 6 years ago I bought my Z. I was cheap and knew nothing about the car besides the looks were wonderful. So I wanted a short shifter to install in my car, this was the first mod.
I went to ebay, I was young and dumb. Well the first few years it worked great just fine, no problems at all. Then every year after that it was harder to shift. This last year you really needed some muscle to get the car into gears. I bought the z1 short shifter off the group buy from the 300zx club store.
I first thought my trany was a POS. Then thought something was wrong with my clutch. Nope, it was the shifter, I wish I would of installed a new one years ago. I hope this thing keeps shifting years from now like it does today, I am so impressed!! I enjoy driving my car again Just need to figure out why it shakes after 60

LOVE IT!!! IT IS NIGHT AND DAY!!! I CANT BELIEVE HOW EASY MY CAR IS TO SHIFT NOW!


Just thought I would share my story with you guys

anyone know why they don't just put short shifters in from the factory?

I think the normal everyday driver wants to feel a great difference between each shift. Like my car, with its 15 and 1/2 inch throw is perfect for the everyday driver who doesnt want to shift fast and have optimum performance

I would rather have the short shift because I am lazy lol. Before I couldnt power shift it at all, it would grind. It goes into gears so easy now a cave man could do it.. Before it was hell shifting it, made me not want to drive my car much.
