Long story short when we had all that rain a few months ago a lake magically appeared on one of the main roads in wausau and I drove through it. Needless to say my motor didn't like this too much and quit for 5 minutes before it would start again and ran like shit after that. Put it right in the garage and let it sit for 2 days before I drove it again and a weird ticking noise started so I called the insurance and asked if this was covered under my policy. They said yes and I finally sifted through all the bullshit with them last week and started the tear down. Finished pulling the head tonight and what I found was rather bad. I was expecting a bent valve or something of that sort the car didn't run terribly but the ticking would not stop. Turns out the #1 cylinder is half a centimeter off from the #4 and has been rubbing on the motor this entire time, all the pistons have been rubbing to an extent and basically the worst thing that could happen happened after I thought it was going to be something minor. Not sure if the crank is boned, a rod is bent, or whats wrong with the bottom end but the pistons look like shit. On the brightside though, my insurance company gets to foot the bill cheers

Oh and before someone else says it, this thread is worthless without pics so here you go.

Sounds and looks to me like a bent rod.

Sucks but good thing the insurance is paying for it!!

Lol I had 4 mechanics look at it and they all assured me bent valve tops. Tear down the motor with my buddy yesterday and this is what we found and we were all surprised only symptom was the tick and it was slightly slower than before. It is what it is I guess lol
