| Well as most of you know I have three options on combos for my car this coming year.....
1) leave whats in there in there it works ok but nothing special 2) install stock LS1 stock 4L60E then have to pull it out later and go through it to make it what i want 3) install the motor that is in dads new ride 13-13.5:1 compression 383 AFR 220 heads run it on E85 run his TH350 with trans brake while i build the LS how i want it.
what do you guys think i should do?

| I'd go with your dads motor..... and build the LS how you want. At least then you'd have something different for the time being, and you won;t have to put the car down while building a motor. | |

| he could run it factory a season with bolt ons or something, maybe it will be enough for him. or a winter 2011 project to build what he wants. | |

Personally, I find it a disgrace that you have no mopar engines up there. I can tell you a 440 in between the fenders would not only be cool, but completely different.
In all seriousness I voted for the e 85 set up because I for one would be interested in seeing how that set up would work. I personally think it would be cool to see how it runs with the basic 383. This would give you time to go through that Ls motor a bit more too.

| Well seeing as how on the 16th a bolt on ls1 went 11.0 with a 150 shot. I say don't do that and give us poor lt1 guys a chance. But in all seriousness stock long block LS1's have been put in the 9's with a fair amount of reliability in a well set up car. |

| andy is right this also works with dads car he does not want to have to run E85 or race gas so he needs to do something if i put it in mine i can and will run E85. I know what basic LS motors can do i have heads and a cam lined up but if i do that there are other things that are needed. the cheapest thing is to run my combo and say screw you to my dad second is run the LT1 and the most $$$$ is the LS swap. | |

| LOL i do the only things that i REALLY NEED are the alt, headers, fuel system, mounts and some fab work. the tune is kind of 50/50 need want, the heads cam rods intake pistons ect ect ect is stuff i want when i do it how i want.

| mother, fucker. ok so now things change again. good thing i didn't buy that carb last week. I had the plan made that I was going to swap my motor and trans for dads motor and trans..... he motor is worth more but his trans is bad so i was calling it a wash since i was going to have to go through that and buy an $800 carb to run the E85. well now dads like my motor is worth X and yours is worth Y so you would need to pay me $1,000 plus your motor and trans. so $1800 plus fix the trans which im sure would be IDK $500 well fuck that might as well build the LS1 and let dad do his own shit...... the fucked up part is i do ALL his swaps and work on his cars for free and now when it is to his advantage he wants fair market WTF? | |
