| I changed the spark plugs in my friend's '92 Escort with a DOHC 1.8L and like 115k on it. I also changed the oil/filter because it hadn't been changed in like 8000 miles. when I took out the plugs they were completely covered in oil on the top ends, all 4 of them. I don't know much about this and I've never seen it before. is this normal or a bad thing, and what can be done about it? | |

| my guess is bad gaskets around the plug tubes and oil leaks down there when you pull them it covers the plugs in oil. not really a huge deal. | |

| my SHO had a real bad misfire pulled the plugs, full of oil. just the o ring seals. | |

| My work car at the time, an Accord, had the same issue. When I had it torn apart for other things, I fixed that issue too. Cam tower seals they are called on a Honduh. Unless it's causing a missfire, I wouldn't worry about it. Look at it this way, the plugs should never seize into the head. |

| On the 1.8 it takes like 10 minutes! hell you can reuse the gasket if it isnt cracked. | |
