fuel gauge explained

ever wonder why it takes a while for the fuel gauge to start going down after a fill up?

this was a whole bunch of shit I didn't know, some of you might but I thought it was interesting.

Also auto engineers want you to think you are out of gas when you are not. Almost every car has the fuel pump located inside the tank, which uses fuel to cool the pump. When you run your tank dry, you also over heat the pump and that can cause it to fail.
