02 Grand Cherokee, need help

Subject: 02 Grand Cherokee, need help Sat Mar 12, 2011 3:17 am

I drove my sister's Jeep today and started hearing some weird hiss noise that sounded like one of the back tires was leaking. got it home and peeked underneath while it was running and found this hose is broken, I can't follow it far enough to see where it goes but if I pull it off all the way the engine will sputter and bog. it's on the driver side, right above the rear axle and in front of the gas tank directly next to what I believe is the fuel filter? it's an '02 Grand Cherokee 4.0L I6 with like 120k on it. she's gotta drive it back home to La Crosse on monday so I'm hoping to figure it out by then. can I just wrap the hell out of it with duct tape or something?

Hard to tell in the pic but possibly evap... Put a hose barb in there and wrap that shiz in duct tape.

Looks like a vacuum line going back to the evap stuff. Do what he said as a temp fix and order a new hose

that is all evap stuff in that area it should not cause anything to sputter and bog..... it could cause a big vac leak but still.... I have to work today give me a call and you might be able to swing buy and i can fix whatever you got going on there.
