when I built my solid axle explorer, I used a detroit true trac up front in the dana 44, and it was awesome. It didn't work when one wheel wasn't touching the ground, but a little tap to the brake pedal and it would lock up. In the rear 8.8, I had a powertraxx no-slip, and that thing was great back there. It would stay locked up all of the time, until you went around a corner, where it would let loose, and it worked silently. There were many times I had that truck scraping the driver doors on the ground with both passenger side wheels up in the air, and it always stayed locked up and I never broke a c-clip. That 8.8 held up to a LOT of abuse!
