I'm trying to figure out what size tires I need to put on to my TE-37 Super Laps. The size of the rims are 18x10 +20 but I can't remember what size tires I need to keep the speedometer some what accurate.

if I remember correctly I believe it might be 275-285 / 35/40 / 18

the offset doesn't matter for tire sizing (as far as I know). the 35/40 is going to be sidewall and the lower you go the skinnier they get. 35-40 would be my recommendation as you will have a nice sidewall but a good look. You probably don't want to go to low or bad things can start happening (especially the kind of driving you do)

I THINK you may want a 285 but it might even be more for that width (holy fuck those are wide) you probably want to check with someone else though.

Play with this......
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Can't you make adjustments for different tire sizes through tuning with that thing?

Are you going to stick with stock suspension? Or u gonna get coils?

Cause tire size kinda all depends on if your gonna go super low and slam it or if your gonna stick with a decent ride height.

Do you want to stretch tires? Or stick with the correct size?

Tubbs - I'm going to lower it more then likely but nothing super low just a nice drop in height. I might just be throwing lowering springs on it for the time being some time after I get the power upgrades in place.

Tusk - I dont think the stock tires will fit. I found the stock rim size and tire size.

Stock rim size = 18x8.5 +38
Stock tire size = 245/40 R18

Well since no answers have been given in this thread I asked google... and muff stain forums off all sorts gave me the answer.

http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=Tire+size+for+18x10

RECOMMENDED 285/40/18 (my first guess)

I've seen someone with an X with a slight drop run 275/35ZR18 on an 18x10.5. I would do that, but you could probably get away with a 265 without much stretch. I just remember working this out once before and the 275/35 will be closest to your stock outside diameter so your speedometer will still be accurate.

Just ask Schiller... Im sure he can calculate the exact sizes down to the mm of each tire and how much of a change it will make exactly!
