I haven't been in this type of situation yet... never say never.....

Say you have a nice set to pads with tons of life in them but you have shit rotors due to warping / deposit build up / whatever. Knock down the pads a bit and bed them in with the new rotors or don't be a dumbass and get new pads too?

Make sure you bed them. I have done this a few times and warped the new set but I don't think its from the pads.

You can do it... but I would suggest new pads.

If the pads are worn unevenly then I would replace them. I would probably just scuff up the pads to get the glaze off of them.

I replaced pads at 80k on my car. Never the rotors... I should probably do that...

I've replaced rotors 3 times now (reground different sets twice) and warped them each time. I think it may have something to do with other factors but pads is probably one of them as I did not bed them properly.

Many rotors/pads are pre bedded now from what I have heard.

Swapping out most of my brake stuff this weekend so time will tell...

Either or will be fine. As mentioned. Bed them in

I've done pads, not rotors. Rotors, not pads. cut the rotors, don't cut them, pad it with cheapys or good ones. All depends.

Put new rotors on with your old pads. You'll be fine.

stopping distances will be increased, but not something noticeable. The pads do wear to the rotors so swapping one or the other will effect that slightly but i wouldn't worry about it.

I knew about them wearing together, but I was wondering if the glazed was knocked down on the pads and rebeded, how off they'd be. Pad being softer and wearing into the rotor.

I am getting lazier the older I get, I suppose I should just do it all while I'm there. I'm just trying to save a couple of bucks. They're not Brembos, but decent C5 pads are still over a bill.
