| Seen a red civic on the east side. Had a hole in the hood with the valve cover stickng out of it. Anyone else see it? Was interested what kind of swap would have the motor sitting about 2 inches out of the hood! Kinda reminded me of my intake sticking out. | |

| I think it must have been a J swap car. I think that's what they call it. I think it's a V6 from a TL or something. | |

| yeah J30 or J32 or J35. out of Accord, TL, TL type-S, MDX, etc. there's no way in hell to fit one of those under a Civic hood but they're pretty quick. | |

Yes like others said it's the V6 from a TL. Complete with 6spd and all. We talked to him a bit on saturday night about it. | |

| badass swap! depending on trans & driver that should be a mid 12 second car with a decent driver and no bolt ons. comes down to motor mount selection. i looked into doing a j swap on my 96 cx & collected all the parts up but lost interest (anyone interested in a j32 type s motor & trans hit me up). there a few swap mount suppliers and each one has its drawbacks. some put the motor low so it fits under the hood and the oil pan gets knocked off by speed bumps, an some put it high so it sticks outta the hood. very few get the axle geometry correct so some vibrate like a bitch an chew axles. j swap in an eg with hasport mounts & no hole in the hood, ek' s have more hood clearance | |
