| Little update, last night my allen socket busted in half so i had to wait until today to take the head off. Picture of broken allen socket Head off I'm guessing this gear is for the oil pump? When i took off the timing cover the belt was no where to be found. Transmission off Donor 6bolt in the trunk Engine out of the trunk Thats about all i felt like doing today. Now its off to the casino wish me luck. | |

| That gear is the front balance shaft. The oil pump is driven by the timing belt and its the sprocket on the far lower right. The oil pump also drives the rear balance shaft. | |

| +1 on joining dsmtuners. The previous owner must have done a balance shaft delete. That would explain why there was no belt on the gear. Having the 6 bolt is a huge benefit. Was the engine in the car (the green one) magic cock pony? | |
