Well after much issue and fan fare. It looks like the Coronet 440 issue was a cam bearing. Second bearing decided it didn't like my 440 much and started to walk out. Of course the lifters felt bad about such a disgrace and proceeded to bite the cam. Well my XE268 cam is a sturdy dude and it decided to bite back. Well it won!

2 particulary bitey lifters

If you look in the background you will see the whore of a cam bearing which was sized to small to fit properly.

Anyway, said XE 268 cam bite hard, but lifters bite back and the long and short of it, results in a rather bumpy paperweight

Well new cam bearings, no need to have line bored. The rest of it looks good. So.... it looks like I pulled the bull by the tail and walked away. (hopefully....time will of course tell)

Well after much fan fear and a lot of pennies this is the result

well that is it

Mike

LOL That is because the Coronet was impatient and wanted to leave!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I'm super excited and am counting my blessings. I got really lucky! I'll try and have her out tomorrow night.
