I've never understood why they weigh so damn much to begin with. I mean look at it, they don't look huge, no AWD, only 2 airbags, nothing too fancy in there at all. I think half of it is in the steel armor plate under the oil pan though, thing weights a ton.

Small price to pay for that stereo though

Lol I have no aftermarket stereo or street armor and my shit weighs 4100!!

Out is naturally easier than in. I can pull it in 5 minutes. 10 minutes to put it back in if I don't drop any nuts or washers down into the spare tire well....... then I cus and swear like a sailor, rip it all out again and start over and try not to do it again

I would guess you will be in the 3650-3700 range without the stereo.

I'm think there is about 180ish worth of stereo that will actually come out. I have a TON of big wire in there and a bit of sound deadening in there also. 0 sissy shit

When I took the old setup out I weighed it. I can't find where I posted it though. I think it was in the 150ish range. New setup is ever so slightly heavier.

So not worth it..... or maybe I shouldn't have tried putting it back in when I got home at 1:00. It took a half hour start to finish with some swearing.

It was fun run running Mikey though, that thing can hook. I'm SO not used to the GTO from a dig without out the weight.... Our last run was where Mikey hooked like Dominic in his Challenger from F&F and I launched from 1K and went up in smoke. Good times though

Yeah that was a good race! Tusk got me on the top end! I seemed to do well on the bottom end. Good match up and i really enjoyed it! We split one for tusk one for me!
