| Hey whats up guys found a link to this forum on supramania. My name is Mike I own a 91 Toyota Cressida and on Wednesday I'm going to pick up my fifth MK3 supra. Its a 88 Supra Turbo Targa Top 5 speed. Hoping to find some people around me to go cruisin with and what not. The Supra I'm picking up apparently has a spun bearing so I'm going to be putting the Cress engine in it with the turbo parts. Then I will be parting out the Cress. Heres some pics of my Cressida. My rims are from my 91 Supra that I sold last summer. I';ll get some pics of the supra up as soon as i get her home and cleaned up. |

| Call me crazy, but I LOVE the Cressida. I wouldn't mind shoehorning a 7MGTE into one.

| Welcome! So you're dropping a GE into a GTE car? That's not the simplest thing to do. You should just swap me with my 88 N/A and save me and you the trouble of engine swaps Rust free southern car. Orrrrr, give me your old block, ecu and harness and you can have mine. Deal Done. | |

Welcome to the Forum! You don't have to shoehorn them in there. They come with a 7M-GE to put a GTE in all you have to do is some wiring and take the oil pan off of the Cressida GE since it's front sump instead of rear sump. There is some other things you have to do for intercooler and i.c. piping and what not but other than that the engine will drop right in. |

No, either way I have to pull the Supras engine since it has a spun bearing. So I'm going to pull my GE out of the Cress, switch oil pans and all turbo components and drop it in the supra. That way I can drive it and in the mean time I will slowly rebuild the GTE. I don't mind pulling these engines either I've done them so many times I can have the engine and tranny pulled within an hour of busting my ass. |

| Hey let me know if you have any leads on a MGTE, I dont care if it's blown or has bad bearings. I'm gonna order a JDM engine but I want to swap USDM shit over so I don't have to worry about wiring issues. I just need all the bolt on pieces to make it fit a USDM totally plug and play. | |

You don't need a USDM one the JDM ones are exactly the same. Only difference is the JDM engine doesn't have emission control so they don't have the EGR system. As for the plugs and sensors they're all plug in play. And if you want to keep your egr just take the one off the GE, they're exactly the same. Also you will either have to get a USDM throttle body or swap over the linkage brackets from one since the JDM throttle body has a different throttle linkage setup. I know all this because I bought one for my first Supra, an 87 Turbo Targa 5-Speed. If you have any questions or need help I'm very knowledgeable of the MK3 supras. |

| huh I always though that I would need a JDM with an ecu and full harness and since it's right hand drive one there I would have to extend the chassis harness to reach the ecu. BTW I appreciate the offer for help as I have not actually done a swap on this car myself.

Oh yeah one other thing with the JDM engine is, since they are right hand drive the heater core is on the opposite side so you have to either switch the metal coolant tubes that run around the block or you have to make a plug and cap one side off on the driver side. Took me forever to figure that one out when I did my first JDM swap. It pissed me off I never had any heat and then one day I had it apart and realized I was basically just recirculating the coolant without running into the heater core. The easiest thing to do would just be switch the tube from the USDM engine to the JDM engine. The tube on the GE is the same as the one on the GTE. |

so what exactly is happening to the cressida after all this swappin? I would like to sell it as a shell but I don't think anyone is going to want a Cressida without an engine. So if I can't sell it whole I'll part it out which I don't want to do because I probably won't make my money back on it. I have it on craigslist and on Supramania and Cressidaforums and noone is interested. |
