So basically where I'm at blows. I'm on flat rate and can only make ~20 hours a week and it's not working.

Doesnt really matter what or where I go, as lTs better than this.

Well if you want to drive... John deere in Horicon will be hiring a few more core people in my department. “Production engineering specialist”. Don’t let the title scare you. LOL!! We have 3 areas of work. One is Fab up parts that engineer’s design up. Test labs that test the parts and units, and the shop floor where your basically a mechanic on the units as they need services or fixing if they brake..
The jobs will be posted online soon. You have to pass some tests to get in. 100 written test, hands on, and a computer test.
So if you know anything about hydraulics, electrical, and mechanics go for it! It is one of the most sought after jobs here at John Deere!!
And this is one of the only jobs that will be core, all the welding and assembly jobs are now seasonal positions!!

Every tech here lives in a trailer, except for one.

Guy next to me has been a Chrysler tech for 28 years and flags 26 hours a week here...

good luck finding another one though. Very Happy
try Meineke on the East side by Farm and Fleet. They need some better techs there.
