HOW THE CAR USED TO BE...[u]
The previous owner last dynoed the car at 307HP & 335TQ @ 17 PSI...since that last dyno the TRZ TMIC and turbo inlet pipe have been added along with a balance shaft delete and i turned the boost up a little...in a couple weeks i plan on doing my own dyno...and since i have owned it of course i have removed the ugly black vinyl stripe
These pics are how the car looked like when i got it about 1 month ago
Added the Mazdaspeed Sticker in the back windshield
The only TRZ TMIC made for the MS3...My car was the test car for this TMIC it has injection ports for C02, Nitrous, Meth, Water etc...along with a long chilling coil in the cold pipe
A little shot of my headers
My Reworked K04 turbo
Ported Exhaust Side
Clipped turbine..notice how it's done so slightly
Bigger, lighter compressor wheel

Holy fucking rod failure dude!! Did that happen after you turned the boost up and balance shaft delete?
Also, I know it seems backwards....but I've never seen one of these fuckers blow that was running a stock TMIC.
Nice Turbo upgrade...I like where you're going with this.

That is not the stock TMIC, it's a TRZ TMIC the only TRZ TMIC that is my car was the test car for it, it pulled better then the ETS TMIC... I was fully bolted on stock internals (all bolt ons) Protege Garage Reworked K04 turbo at 18-20 PSI with stock tune with just CP-E flashes (dumb yes i know)

HAHA Holy shit you were running that on the stock tune!! I commend you on your balls and aggressive rebuild man, but don't even restart that car on the stock tune when it's done. I got my shit tunes at P&L in Chicago and so far so good. You are a lot closer to MAP up there, that's where I would probably tune when you're done.
Awesome build though....I'm pretty excited about seeing what you come out with. It's a perfect choice on the turbo..that's what the 400+hp guys on the mazdaspeed forums are running.
I think our cars were pretty similar, I put down 306whp on a dyno jet with a Turbo Back, Tune, Bigger CDFP and CAI. What are you going to go with for fueling? I saw PT-Performance just came out with their "Maxed Out" HPFP that is supposed to be able to support 550hp but they like to stretch the truth a lot.

Keep in mind this is Direct Injection motor not a typical Port Injection For fueling i have a keene belle intank pump and a Mr.Lilguy Upgraded HPFP, will be running PTP injectors seals...stock injector can support up to 450hp...fueling won't be an issue with the Direct Injection

Yeah, I wouldn't want to push much more boost than the 19 I'm running now with that pump. I personally think direct injection is a fail for boosted engines. E85 isn't even an option for us.

E85 is an option MAP in the twin cities did an E85 tune for a CX7 see link ->http://www.mnmazda.com/forum/showthread.php?3769-e85-do-I-want-some
BUT i wouldn't want to do it personally it eats away at gaskets and seals

do you plan on running meth/e85 at all or is this on pump gas?

PeterMS3 what fuel pump do you have? CPE, PG, KMD internals, Upgraded MAZDA FP? i was having no fueling problems with my previous setup at 18-21 psi on the reworked K04 with only stock tune and CPE flashes...
tuning will play a huge role with my new 30R setup

MAP is definitely a good place to go, especially since you plan on running the standback. I'm using the AP which is why I didn't tune up there. They can do it but most of Jordan's tuning experience is standback so it's a great option for you.
My issue with E85 on these cars is the ability to flow enough fuel. Considering you need to push an average of 30% more, I have doubts as to the abilities to get enough through at high RPM WOT.
You will have a more robust fuel setup though so maybe that would be adequate. I like the meth plan a lot better though

yes 100% meth with pump gas for as of right now and hopefully in the future a tune for race gas (but unlikely)

Meth seems to be the answer with our cars, not only to eliminate KR but for cooler combustion temps and lower BAT

I'm running the hitachi upgraded pump from PT-p. Same thing as PG I believe.
I hold 2000 psi at max which I'm pretty comfortable with and my AFR's never dip low anymore. I was hitting MASSIVE fuel cut with my stock pump. There are plenty of people on here that can vouch for how awful and violent that was. The bigger pump made a world of difference for me.
Now I just gotta get that stupid restrictor bolt done for my turbo oil supply line to keep this piece of crap k04 from smoking.

No catch can yet, but it looks like everyone pretty much considers them necessary equipment for these things. I've just been lazy and haven't wanted to do it. Did you run one? Make a big difference?
