Might as well start this now.

1994 Camaro Z28, most everyone here knows the car.

After the motor failure this last fall, its time for a rebuild. Plans are as follows:

Motor: Will stay a 383 Stroker, Heads will be gone through and cleaned up as needed. Intake will be cleaned up as needed. CC performance OVC MSD plug wire kit with DEI Heatsheilds. Pacesetter longtubes. TCI SFI approved neutral balanced Flexplate, ATI super Dampener. New Stock rubber Motor mounts. Not sure exactly what the motor needs for a rebuild yet, but Meister will be tearing into it as soon as the motor is pulled. Even if it doesn't need it, I'll be putting a forged crank into it. Possibly splaying the block for 4 bolt mains. ARP hardware throughout, already has an AC delete and such. I MIGHT do an electric water pump this year as well.

Suspension: Not too drastic of a change here, its getting a UMI Torque arm relocation kit, and a separate UMI driveshaft loop/crossmember. I MIGHT be buying a set of lowering springs if I can find a set of decent 17" wheels.

Exhaust: Same setup as last year, possibly with a change in the tips. It WILL have an electric cutout this year, I'm sick of crawling around on the ground to open it up.

Body: Depending on the tips I choose, Ill likely be getting a 6LE lower valence panel. pics here:

http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=165_23_27&products_id=115

Disregard the huge tips in the pictures, I'll likely go with Corsa Clones.

Wheels/Tires: Hopefully I can find a decent set of 17" wheels with street tires and a spare set of 2 to run drag radials. More to come later on that.

Brakes: WS6 store C5 brake conversion kit. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/catalog/93-02-ws6store-f-body-c5-brake-conversion-kit-1/ Refreshed stock rear brakes until I break a rear end, and I'll look at something a bit beefier.

Interior/Misc: New center console top, re-upholstered drivers seat (seam split) re-upholstered headliner, I need to fix a couple of tabs that are broken on trim, the shift knob needs replacing, and I'm replacing both drivers side and passengers side window motors and applying the proper modifications to them to make them LAST (I.E. direct battery power)

The goal is to have all the mechanical stuff done by the time the salt is off the road, and do the interior/brakes/misc stuff throughout the summer. If I get all this accomplished, next spring the car will get a complete re-paint in the factory color.

Well, the car starts and drives okay but make a rattling noise at idle like a loose pulley. I took the belt off last fall and noticed i could move the crank pulley around. So, bare minimum i think crank and bearings. And the heads are home ported. They will go on a flow bench and be "adjusted" if need be. Smile

Sounds like a good plan to me. Can't wait to see some progress pics. Also I'd suggest checking out Kore3 for the brake conversion. That's where I got mine.

Kevin, very exciting build. It was nice to chat the other night about it too. I think if you pull it all together this is going to be a very fun car.
