| Its time I finally post an official build thread for my Camaro. All of you know, this used to be Chris's car, I bought it last April. 1994 Camaro Z28 383 Stroker Automatic transmission Full exhaust Last fall, while driving at 55 MPH to work one evening, the crank snapped right in front of the first main: This was likely due to the wrong flexplate for the application, as well as it being a crappy cast eagle stroker crank. Also, during tear down, we found out that the car had been overheated at one point trashing a bunch of stuff: SO, the car basically needed an entire reciprocating assembly, as well as a bunch of machine work. Mahle .30 over forged pistons: Eagle forged H-Beam rods: Eagle 4340 Forged Crank with the snout keyed: New bearings, rings, ect... One piece Trickflow Pushrods and cleaned up lifters. We also kept the GM847 camshaft and the Melling High Volume Oil pump. The mains were splayed to a 4 bolt: Also, some Machine work was needed to fit the larger rods:

| Next, was assembly of the short block: The heads were gone through, higher rate springs were installed along with a SINGLE exhaust valve that was bent. Also, a 5 angle vlave job was performed, along with some port work here and there. ARP head studs: On the engine: A new timing chain and water pump drive were installed, as well as multiple little parts. There was also a new windage tray (moroso) installed to match the oil pan better: Dave even went the extra mile and fabricated an EGR blockoff plate: Complete Motor: The motor is now in the car, and I'm just waiting on transmission parts and a tune. The car also has been converted to OVC wires, a vented Optispark setup, and now has ES poly motor mounts. Also, all hardware in the bottom end is now ARP2000 stuff, along with a bunch of other ARP bolts (timing cover, water pump, intake, Flexplate to engine, ect. Trans is going through a rebuild at the moment, with Raybestos Red Devil Clutches, a new pump, and a PTC 3600 street/strip stall converter. Also added was a TCI SFI approved balanced flex plate. I need to get a different harmonic dampener at some point, as well as a couple of other parts here and there. The 18' chrome wheels will be gone, swapped for a set of 17' 2002 SS wheels. Eventually I will be running Nitto 555R drag radials. The pacesetter long tubes were put back on the car, along with teh same exhaust the car had when I bought it. Also, we fixed a bunch of small issues, like the temp sender for the coolant gauge, the battery cables, the ground straps, and the oil pressure sending unit. next on the list is a Strange 12 bolt rear end. | |

| Not sure what a Strange 60 is gonna set you back, but check into Quick performance. I'm going with a 9 inch for the 02. A complete bolt in housing with 35 spline moser axles to my door is 1200 bucks. I'm going 35 spline because that whats in the 71, this way the center sections interchange. Then I'm going to Ebay to get the complete center section with gear of my choice with a detroit locker. There is a guy on there that sells center sections from a Nascar team that have only been raced once. These are real quality with no expense spared. (I know this because a couple buddies of mine bought them.) I figured after all is done I'd have less than 2 grand for a complete bolt in rearend. But anyway I thought I'd throw this out there and try to save you a few bucks. | |

| Hmmm. nope. I didn't think it was a restriction until much more power than I'll be making. Was I wrong?
The intake is opened up enough for a 58mm TB if I need one. | |

| Transmission is now completely rebuilt and ready to rock. I pick it up tomorrow. I also have to call the tuner up to schedule an appointment. Hopefully that doesn't take too long. | |

| Car is back on the road! Feels much stronger than it did before. The transmission works great, and I have to say.... I'm loving the PTC stall so far! The car goes in for the tune the week of the first. Better late than never! | |
