13 GT500 VS. 13 GT-R both stock Dig and Roll.

Do they use sign language or something? I didn't hear any honks....

It looks like the mustang fell on it's face right after it started it's launch. Was that the launch control interfering too much? I would never expect it to win from a dig but it seemed like it launched ok and then just died.

Yea the launch control does that to stop wheel spin, once it detects wheel spin it closes the throttle to keep traction and you can watch the boost drop to 0 psi when it does and then only makes 8-10 psi max in 1st on street tires then click 2nd and you get 12-15 psi. But it works pretty good IMHO the best I could do with the 1/4 timer thats built in on street tires with launch control was 12.1@128 without it the best was 12.8. I plan to do some drag radial runs soon.

The trap speeds for these cars were rated pretty similar and I was a little worried because they weigh the same and the gt500 makes 120 more hp but this looks more legit.

Yea the guy driving the GT500 also has a GT-R and said the GT500 pulls harder the faster you go compared to the GT-R.

Not too surprised since AWD tends to show a big weakness in top speed. It really does start tapering. Raced a Camero once and we were dead even until we reached around 100mph.

The big differences between these cars is that your average jackhole that can afford one can get in the gtr and run good times while the gt500 owner is going to run 12s and buy new tires every spring. On the street I'm still concerned about racing an old lady in a gtr but not your average clown in a gt500.

^ true. The GTR is pretty difficult to not drive it fast haha.

I was having a conversation with someone about these two cars and said the exact same thing. Driving the GT-R is a lot more like a video game. Slam the gas and go. You are going to need some skill to make that GT500 rip.
