| Hey,
Was told about a Co-worker about the forum today. Seen the Facebook page before. I have been given the name of "Hillrod" by some friends of mine, for cobbling fixes on the side of the road before. I have a 86 F-Body, and a 68 C10 that I am starting to build. Had a few DSM's in the past, but wont go down that road again. Learned I like to drive more than wrench. Look forward to meeting some new people around the area!

| Yes its a short box step side. GM made both short and long box step sides. I have only seen the long box step sides on 1st(60-66) and 2nd(67-72) gen C10's. She came from Arkansas. Has minor rust thru the rockers, an some quarter sized holes in the floor, but for being 45 years old shes in great shape.
Plan to drop in a 5.3 and boost.
Thanks for the welcomes! | |

| short and long stepsides were available since 1958 when the "fleetside" started. gm initially divided the short and long based on 1/2 or 3/4 ton starting after wwII. so a '48 3100 chevy would have a short bed and a 3600 3/4 ton would get the long. starting in 58 it was similar but w the addition of fleetsides. idk when they started mixing and matching but now its anything available on any chassis it seems. | |
