... left a note on my car telling me about your little ol' website here, for all you troublemakers. So, greetings, earthlings.

The SSS3 (Sunlight Silver Speed 3) is my DD, 100 miles/day of delight. Sorry if I passed you going too fast.

Welcome man, you are the only other person in the area on the forum with a speed 3 besides me.

This site is small because we just upgraded from a smaller site with 100 members and everyone hasn't moved over yet.

So what do you have done to that thing? I love mine to death.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I need to gather some pics. Would dig dropping in on a gathering sometime.

I am just nuts about this car. Only a couple of minor things - MSCAI (amazing the difference), slotted rotors in front...

Oh, and the radar detector.

I have almost 75K on the car. But I did replace the tranny and clutch at 43K. Correction - the dealer did the tranny - a little problem with the needle bearing cage, apparently a flaw in the casting or something. They say it is the only one they know of that has done that. The pics of the damage are really something.

Cool - yeah, it put a smile on my face.

There used to be a white '08 speed3 that would park on the street right around there about once every couple of weeks also. There are a few around.

So, is yours a hatch? The 2.3?

First car I ever had was a 1980 Mazda 626. It had some smack to it. Loved the handling. I'm now on like my 6th Mazda, I think.

My mods right now are simple bolt on's. TurboXs CAI, TurboXs down pipe and race pipe, CP-E catback exhaust, HKS SSQV BOV, Access Port, Tinted windows and side markers, blacked out emblems, Halo lights, eye brows and I have upgraded fuel pump internals in the mail to be installed with my 1 step colder NGK's....then I will finally be ready for a protune and that will be it for me for power mods.

In the spring I'm going to throw on some black tenzo cusco's with a red lip and upgrade all the mounts.

It's my DD so I don't want to go ridiculous, plus there is only so much wheel spin a man can take.

The only problem I have right now is some turbo smoke that I can cure with a PCV upgrade and boost creep because the Cobb OTS maps are only for catted downpipes.

Like I said, I love this car to death and I hope it runs forever haha.

Thanks man! Yeah, I love that car. Its a good driving project and while it looks nice, the internet does cover a lot of flaws. yet, Its a nice driver. I actually also most came close to trading it recently straight up for pontiac GTO clone, but couldn't pull the trigger.

I apprciate the compliments, mopars are a big part of my life.

Yeah the step colder plugs are not going to make a positive power influence, if anything it would be slightly negative. The step colder is for safety mostly and generally are not necessary until you up your HP quite a bit. I've always been curious about the air straighteners, I see the guys on the mazda forums like them but I'm going to wait till I'm tuned in to do it and see if it makes a difference in smoother acceleration.

And no worries, me and MikeyT are old guy's too....

You can borrow my air straightener if you like, as I have it pulled out right now. I could bring it when I show up to one of these gatherings.

Franky, I have a good friend with the regular 3 with the 2.3, and he loves it. It's a great car.
