2000 PSI Was Just Too Much

So I was out enjoying my snow tires with a bunch of fresh snow for a couple hours when the inside of my car started to stink like a fucking gas pump. I also went through waaay more gas than usual so I figured I should get the car home and see what I could find. It smelled so bad I pulled the back seat to check the tank cap but all that was fine. Climbed underneath and found a trickle of gas running down the trans. AWESOME!!

The fuel system is so buried in these cars I couldn't tell where it was coming from. So after pulling the battery box and trying to start the car with the battery out using jumper cables I could see a fine mist of gas spraying out someplace beneath the pump/wire vomit that covers that whole side of the engine.

At this point I was in over my head so Cholesterauls was kind enough to step in and start ripping shit apart. Intake off, intercooler off, Inlet pipe off, ECU off, 400 clips and hoses off and he got down to a couple of fittings and a hard pipe running pressurized fuel to the rail. Not sure exactly what part is leaking but I'm replacing the whole bit just to be sure. This little job is a nightmare with all the shit that has to come off to get down there. I'll try and get some pictures up tomorrow. Hopefully the dealer has some parts they can get in a day or two.

Until then the new Supra will be a nice DD as long as it doesn't snow.

That sucks, I hope everything goes smoothly with replacement. Call me up if you need some help.

Haha nah, it wasn't a catastophic failure, just a slow spray. I don't think the engine was ever fuel starved or lean. Just a weak seal someplace probably.

are you running bigger injectors too?

Nah I'm running stock injectors. I'm not even sure there are any aftermarket. Direct Injection has it's pluses and minuses. On this car it's mainly minuses though.

The Camaro only has 2 injectors, less to go wrong.
