| So I am putting a 8.8 TracLok 31 spline out of a 97 Explorer in the TA. I am planning on rebuilding the factory traclok with extra discs. One of my questions is where would be a good place to get a clutch pack kits for this rearend? I have noticed that the factory location to fill the diff. with fluid is blocked due to my suspension, so is there a aluminum cover that has a fill plug in it? I am planning on going fast this year so I am using Ford parts to get the GM there. |

| You can get away with only buying ( 1 ) rebuild kit. Just use ( 2 ) of the old clutches when you rebuild it. Make sure you buy some friction modifier, and C Clip elims are you friend! | |

| I would start by tossing that stock diff in the trash. Then order a auburn pro and call it a day. | |

| I am not planning on running c-clips eliminators because I have rear disc brakes, they would hold the axle in if shit were to break.
Carbon discs? Would I still want to run a extra one?
If I were to go with an aftermarket unit, I would only run a Detroit locker. I see Yukon is making a Posi that is rebuidable, but I figure I already will have the traclok.

| The carbon fiber disks are what come in the 03/04 cobra diffs. I've never heard of anyone running an extra disk with the carbon fiber set up. | |

Why do you say that. Because I know for a fact that you can add extra clutches. I would rather have 4 regular clutches per side than 3 carbon fiber ones per side. | |

| I figured the 4 bolt style would be weak and I wasn't sure on how big or strong the rear u-joint would be?
