I love autoX. It gets a bad rap at times but it sure is a cheap way to carve some corners and beat your shit to the ground legally.

the eye-opener for me was going from a parking lot autoX to a proper track day. Better have your head screwed on straight then. Then take track day to road race and the world is turned upside down.
