Bare with me...but why the hell not?

For my n/a supra I just bought one of those generic universal metal intakes from autozone and cut it to fit with a chop saw. The only reason I did that is because the header was melting the stock intake. The thing cost me about 20 bucks, its a better cheap option than plastic.

Domestic rice...... might be barking up the wrong tree there.

Incorporate a heat shield into it, otherwise for the most part it will be form over function.

I used about 3 inch's of pvc to make a hard pipe for my intake when i took out the stock air box. i havent had any problems with it but its far enough away for the engine where it doesn't get very warm.
