I bought this car as a AutoX/Wash/Experiment Car. The original idea was to buy it, fix all the rust, and then roll paint it. Now I think I'm going to do all that, and eventually do an engine swap.

The day I brought it home

Since it's been warm, I started bondoing some of the rust spots that I've sanded over the winter.

*UPDATE*

It's been a long summer and I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I wanted. I hoped to have it all painted by September but other stuff kept coming up.

I've had to fiberglass a lot of portions that were rusted out and most of that is done, now I'm just smoothing everything out and trying to get it at least primer-ed before winter hits and it gets too cold to paint.

I wanted to try roll painting the car since I got it, so a while back I took off the hood and did it in rustoleum "Safety Yellow," and I'm seriously impressed by the results. It'll never be as good as professionally done paint, but I'd put it up against any rattle can job.

I pulled it out today and gave it a good rinse.

There is one spot where a drop of bolt remover stayed on too long and ate through the paint, and a corner that I hit on the garage door tracks when I went to put it back on the car. Mad

So I"ll repaint it when I do the whole car and I'm sure it'll turn out ever better.
