Hey man. Was in a black TA Saturday night 8/4. My Buddy in the shifty talon said he heard a loud pop noise when we hit it. Was gonna stop to help but I didn't wanna walk across east wash in the middle of traffic. Just wondering if the car is ok cause I know the difficulties of lt1 ownership.

Huh. I dont think it was mine that popped, but it could have been. Tim, im just working out the bugs, Im dealing with a wiring harness issue atm. You can shake the harness going to the coil/icm, and kill the car. Not a huge deal, Im going to fix it today.

Messed around with the harness today..... thats not it. The coil looses power if you BARELY move the wires going to it. Since Ive already replaced both pigtails going to it, im pretty sure the coil is making intermittant contact with the pins in the pigtail..... specifically the main power feed. Fucking MSD crap.... I 'll have to see if I have my stock coil laying around still.

Couldnt find the coils you sent with JD.... but I replaced the msd with a stock replacement ac delco.... and no more issues. The fucking msd coil has either a loose terminal or the connecter where the harness connectsis slightly smaller than stock allowing it to loose contact and stall the car. Last msd product I buy... this thing has a grand yotal if 500 miles on it.

I'm just fed up with MSD stuff now LOL! I've had issues with coils from them before.... I never should have bought this one, thats for sure.

By the way JD, how did it sound Saturday night? Smile Thats the first time I've really got on it since the motor rebuild.

It seems like the older MSD stuff was way nicer than the current offerings. The street fire coil is a pretty basic coil too, not really as good as the stock AC Delco. Ive seen a lot of issues with SBF MSD distributors too. YMMV I guess.
