As some of you know last week, I attended the 2010 Mopar Nationals at Raceway park in Columbus Ohio! This was the 30th Mopar Nationals , every year the mopar community picks to pay tribute to one of the old Chrysler product lines. This year it happened to be the Coronet, Coronet 440, Coronet 500 and Superbee models, so it was of particular interest to me.
Here are a few pictures from the event:
The mopar can be described as a combination of this:
And this:
Meaning about every sense a person posesses was bombarded by mopars!
The tempeture was extremely hot! Heat was in the low 90's with heat index cresting well above the century mark. Thie meant keeping hydrated!
I didn't take any pictures, but The swap meet was huge! I was able to pick up a few much needed things for the coronet which was nice and while expensive, I didn't think overly outrageous.
Some of the top cars, from your truly.
1965 Dodge Coronet racer painted in candymatic colors
1970 Dodge Superbee with powerbulge hood
1971 Plymouth GTX 472 Hemi
1967 HEMI Plymouth GTX
Ok, kind of a unique choice, but this was cool because they were the rage when I was a young kind in the 70's!
interior,
I can't help but thinking this would be at home in Termi's driveway!
However, my favorite part was the racing!
This is my buddy Big Squeeze's ride from the moparts board. His name is Wayne Smothers. He owns this 1968 Dodge DART GTS
Here is shot down the track and his time.
He was just a little bit anxious to go!
The time on the big end
A few race video's Please forgive the video's shakiness, steelhammer, I am not!!!! LOL!
