| Already have several of them.
This one is for Target and personal defence if/when concealed carry is approved.

| I have a Glock 17. Lightweight, easy to control, and fits perfectly in the console of my truck. |

| lol thanks for starting this thread. I am actually on the market for an xdm.40 at the moment as well. I have held one and it seemed very sturdy and well suited for my grip. | |

| Already have a couple 12 gauges. Not to mention they will be kind of hard to conceal.
I have a 45 acp but Target shooting one gets expensive.

Buying a new pistol soon and am torn between the 2 I've shot both. Either is rock solid. Put it in your hand, carry them, load them. You'll know which fits your hand, feels balanced, stance and style of shooting after playing with both. Currently shooting a Beretta PX4 Storm .40 and a Taurus .380 TCP. Obviously the Taurus is my CC gun. Ya, it is small but packs a bark that would scare anyone. Those that know me know i am a small guy so it CC"s better than the .40. The Beretta is my varmit, home and compound defense gun. That and the rest of the long rifles and shotguns |

I have a license gunsmith that gives me rocking deals. PM me and I'll pass it along. Don't want to post it in a public forum Also, give PT Firearms in Cross Plains a look. They know their handguns and are cool to deal with. My Taurus came from them, few other toys and my brothers Dragunov. |

| I have experience with both. The best advice I can give you is to go to a range like in deerfield and shoot both. I can give you my opinion on them but in the end it will come down to which one feels the best in your hands.
I think that Glock makes a great gun when it comes to reliability and accuracy but I have never shot one that I like. I don't see myself ever owning one and I hate shooting them. I don't like their stupid triggers and for such a light gun the spring is too heavy from the factory.
The xd has more of a solid feel and is a better platform to deliver rapid fire shots from. Its trigger is still a bit heavy for my taste but has a more proportioned pull compared to the 17.
The xd is more complex when it comes to parts so that is a minus plus it has a 16 round capacity compared to 17 for the glock. Of course I think 16 is enough but its natural to feel like more is better even if only by 1.
I hate hate hate the grip safety on xd. If you need two safeties on a gun you shouldn't own one. The xd uses both polymer and steel for its rail while the glock uses just steel which is personal preference. I do really like the 1911 style grip of the xd which in my opinion improves its ergonomics over the glock.
Thats pretty much my .02, take it or leave it but it will all come down to which suites your style the best. The only way to know for sure is at the range.

| Thanks for the comments guys. Planning on meeting up with a buddy who has a 17 to put some rounds thru it. Already shot the xd and like it but the glock could be better. k | |
