You could take the sub out, throw a couple of screws into the sheet metal from inside that way. Use some silicone over the tops of the screws. don't forget to coat the protruding screws from under the car.
Bigger brackets.... or custom......

Where did it fail? it looked good in the pics....

I did listen, My Idea was to mount it to the top but everyone said it would work fine on that cardboard stuff.

it seemed like a good idea. it was pretty solid and held it when we tested but the idiot has to take corners 5 times faster than needed so i blame it on him. lol

No dude, I wanted to drill into the metal bottom remember? I asked if there was clearance below it and suggested some rubber washers. That's what should be done, like tusk said.

in my own defense, i was not around for brainstorming. just the install. lol
