We all survived the end of the world and didn't even know it!
The Mayans predicted that the world would end on 12/21/12, so we all are freaked out thinking the end is near, but the Mayans were not aware of leap year!

The scary Mayan calendar was written in 3114 BC, and the practice of counting 3 365 day years, and one 366 day leap year in a four year cycle started in 47 BC so they did not know about leap years, it no one adjusted for leap year then we can do the math 3114 + 2011 (there was no year zero) = 5125 /4 = 1281 missed leap years so 2181 / 365.25 = 3.50787 years off making the Mayan end of the world Friday June 19th 2009, hope you enjoyed it!

Either way the Mayan's were a cyclical group of people, therefore when their calender ends it just starts over a the beginning again.

Also on a side note, if you want to want an amusing show about "doomsday". You should watch or DVR Doomsday Preppers on Nat Geo. I watched an episode last night and it was kind of amusing watching people think they have everything figured out and with hoarding a year plus of food wouldn't become a high value target.
