Avatar not highest grossing film when adding in inflation. Makes more sense cause Avatar SUCKED!!!

The only thing I was busting your balls about was that you let the political undertone of Avatar ruin the movie. Based on that I assume you were looking for anything and everything to make the movie bad.

Personally I didn't see any bad acting in that movie....

Either way each to his own.

All I'm saying is that without factoring in money/awards (now I understand what you meant) everything else becomes opinion.

I realized that when arguing movies you can't argue greatest, you end up arguing about favorite.

T2 is prolly my favorite movie. im just totally into the plot of the terminator series. very cool and as a kid watching T2 for the first time, badass lol.

and whats up with sequels blowing cock? is it change of directors? like u guys said, roadhouse was an awesome movie and roadhouse 2 was one of the worst. another that comes to mind, is predator, then the second one was awful. caddyshack 2, etc... another not so well known movie that i think falls into this category is The Substitute. I thought that was a pretty decent movie, then the substitute 2, 3, 4, blah blah blah.

Benind Enemy Lines 2

Starship Troopers 2&3

The acting was over the top (slightly)
The cars were awesome No I'm not joking, someone love mopars in that movie, especially B body Charger and Road Runners
The production kind of had that hint of early 70's porn!

Now seriously kind of cute story and lots of cool cars, and if it had a bigger budget could of been a muscle cars guys Fast and Furious.

Told ya so....

Well I saw Avatar tonight and had mixed feelings. The story was as expected an Alien version of Dances with Wolves. So if that kind of thing is your cup of tea, you'll like the story. Yet its predictable, which made it kind of boring to me.

This being said the special effects were unreal. i'll give credit where credit is due.
I saw it in 3D which to me was well worth the money. While often this gimic is used cheezily in films, I thought it was well placed and truly enhanced the story and made the journey much more enjoyable. In fact, so much more that I think if you don't see it in 3D you miss part of what makes it so epic.

This being said it had to be the most expensive movie ever created. The production is way beyond anything I've ever seen! It took no less then 5 CGI and special effect studio's to complete! (Lucas Arts, Weta Studio's and Pixar the biggest of them plus two others that are failing my memory right now.) It should blow anything out of the water for the oscar for visual effects this year.

I found it enjoyable and worth seeing.

I haven't seen the movie but that was funny as shit.

I wasn't surprised to see the movie be hailed as great. Wasn't surprised when I read it did the whole "military and corporations evil" theme since the timing for it was perfect to pull that one out of his ass. I also wasn't surprised that not much was made of Cameron stealing ideas for the movie. Or I should say, rehashing old ideas.

First the name. Avatar the last Airbender anyone? That movie was renamed to The Last Airbender I would bet to keep Cameron happy. I recall taking my kids to a movie months before Avatar was to be released and the kids where stoked that Avatar the last Airbender was being made. Hell, the cartoon Avatar has been around for years. Also people making the connection to this.

Then the obvious use of names from sci-fi meme's "Unobtainium" and "Pandora". Seriously, come up with some fresh, new ideas. For someone heralded as a grown breaking movie director he sure has to rehash old shit.

All of that made me decide before the movie was out I'd wait until it was on DVD. 12 bucks a pop for a movie means I really want to be entertained, not given a message. This goes for either side of the political isle.

Just give me Boobs, shit blowing up and fast cars in my movie and I am a happy, simple man being entertained. Like the last movie I went to in the theater, Zombieland. If I want deep thought I'll read a book.
