| idk whats wrong... i was driving along minding my own when it just died. I coasted to a stop and checked the temps and what not, tried to crank it over and it would just barely turn over... I just put oil in it about 15 minutes before this, and it was running and idling fine. I did have a mis on the number one cylinder randomly, i wonder if it let go... | |

| Damn Dude. Between you, Tony, Logan, and Evan, it reminds me of a line a guy I know used to use when he was asked to race - "Everybody's shit is down." How long before Preston's STI takes a dump?
If you call MPD they should be able to tell you where your car is. Most likely its stored by whichever towing company has the city account, which I think is Schmidts. The BS of it is they will charge you a storage fee to get it out of there.
Keep us posted! |

Hopefully never, when I put my exhaust on I flash tuned it immediately with the access port and didn't beat on it, I waited to do the ECBS and intake until it was on a dyno getting tuned.

Matt You know that seems awfully suspicious of something being wrong electrical more then it does motor wise? Did you synce up all the belts and made sure you grounded everything after you recent changes to the car. Also how old is the battery in it. I'm not questioning your intelligence or anything, but I know after builds its not uncommon to miss something simple. Also for the record most of the time I've had chatastrophic internal issues I've known it with ugly metal sounds.... Mike

| I had no light and it was 2am... so i could have something under the hood i didnt see... i think Tims was able to locate it and i believe it is at Schmidts. Hopefully i can get it tonight. They will have to tow it to my house.... so there is some more money. And my plates are expired, but i renewed online so i have no registration information.. I hope its in the car. And they let me get it. | |

| Funny enough, I was thinking about an electrical issue too. Seems unlikely to just die like that without other failiure.
Moparkid, for some reason my car still runs! lol

You had no lights? I can almost certainly promise you this is an electrical problem. Mike

| Sorry matt, I have been doing a TON of research on this very topic and you have a few options. You won't have much luck at all selling it not running.
Don't run it at ALL unless you want to make the damage way worse. Scored head and cam journals for one.
I say rebuild it, and either keep or sell.

| This sucks dude. In my opinion get a sbox for a daily, start to tear down the engine so you can figure out what you can salvage for a new block. At this point there is no way in hell you will gain anything from selling that car as is.
You could also consider selling the aftermarket exhaust to get funding for a used working block to get her running, once its running, sell it as stock and move on.
OR, you could consider parting the whole thing out to pay off the loan but idk how well that will go since most of the car has 130k + miles...

| Shit, well I was hoping it was something simple. I'd figure finding a good used short block and build around that for now. I'm really sorry Matt. Mike | |

| Dang that sucks. New shortblock can be had for around $1800. Drop the pan first and see if there was a pickup tube failure. If it's knocking really loudly and the engine was starved, you might need more than a shortblock. |
