Not enough room to weld, it busted right below the hex. I called up my Buddies dad and he said we have two options. Either we get it good and hot and use something like Kroil on it to penetrate ( then use a square style EZ-out and carefuly turn it out) or drill it out and helicoil it. He says that we shouldn't have to take off the head if we get the cyl to TDC and blow it out real good afterwords. He's done this on multiple makes and models of vehicles apparently. I guess the trick with the ezout is to use the square type so it doesn't expand what you are trying to remove. If I go slow, it should come out. looking at the piece i snapped off, it corroded on the outside, thinning the shank of the plug below the hex. The other two plugs didnt have as much corrosion, and they came out fairly easy. i'm hoping that whats left of the ceramic blew out when we started it and backed it into a parking stall. If thats the case, it should go pretty easy. I know this method is used a lot in the 5.4L world. I'm just hoping that this plug wasn't cross threaded, and that it was simple corrosion that caused it to snap.
We are going to attempt to fix it on Saturday.
