| Well what i have is a 68 firebird with a 350 HO, and a 72 Formula with a 400 in it and i was wondering which one i should dump some money into? and don't tell me to buy a SBC id rather stab myself in the eye. |

Well first, what do you mean by "dumping money into"? Are you trying to go fast or something or just a rebuild or what? If you are not a memeber of a Pontiac become one, like http://hardcorepontiacs.com/forum/ or whatever. Places like this will be able to give you more info than a general forum. |

| Actually it doesn't matter. If memory serves me the 350 and 400 are the same blocks. The only difference is stroke. If it was me and it was built for power. I would go with the 400. More cubes. I would get a solid built bottom end, custom grind cam and a decent set of edelbrock aluminum heads. If your a stickler for original and don't want to buy aluminum heads, the pontiac stage IV heads are the hot ticket.

| other wise i have a 79 smokey with the 403 olds, bought it with rod out of the oil pan... not quite sure what is in it for internals but it did have a dual 4bbl setup on it. |

| Don't do anything with a 403. Its a smog motor that makes no HP. Guys on gbodyforum.com brag up there "built" 403s that have 200 hp.
