| I sold that clapped out foxbody, and picked up a sweet clapped out cummins. Has a cracked block. Needs a bunch of work. Probably wont be done for awhile. Has a few mods already. Edge comp box, 5 inch exhaust, fass 150 lift pump, has a few gauges to keep track of stuff, has a new box of arp head studs in the cab, might have a couple trans mods.

| Awesome. The block number to stay away from is 53. Especially if its from a 99-02. The earlier ones don't seem to have the same problem. I'd also check to see if the current block is a 53. Although unlikely these days, if that truck happens to have less than 150K on it and it has a cracked 53 block, cummins will replace it under warranty. It'll be interesting to see whats in the tranny. Hopefully at least valve body and a converter. Also the pump already being done is sweet. | |

| It is a 53 block. Truck had 173k on it. I have a running engine lined up for pretty cheap. Has 50hp ddp injectors. And is supposed to be a mexican block. The trans has billet shafts, sun coast valvebody, a bd hd rebuild kit, billet tripple disc converter, bd billet flex plate, mag hytech pan, and some ts lockup box. | |

Damn! If it has all that already you're off the hook for a lot of coin and ready to make some good power. That'll be a great running truck.

| Cool, my dad's got an 03 Dmax (got a super good deal so it's not a cummins) with Edge Juice with Attitude, Impressive I have to admit. I'm in the market for a 1st gen cummins, less power and potential but it'd do what I'd need to and I like that body style most lol all old and boxy. Good luck with the build. | |

| Both engines are now apart. Both were in really good shape. The engine that was in the truck looked like new inside. And the block was not cracked. It has a small notch on the edge of the number 5 hole. Has to be a factory flaw. Been there since day one. I will still be using the non 53 block anyhow. Going to be starting the head work soon. Milling the intake off for porting. Then building a sheet metal intake to replace the stock pos. Engine wont be done for awhile. I have to wait until I get my cometic gaskets before I can finish it . They should be ready in the spring. I will be testing cometic's new head gasket for them. I have a long way to go. But have a decent start. | |

I kinda doubt it. I will be running out of free time soon. Then I will only have a few hours a week to work on it. I am just going to take my time and do it right.
