Evan J Smith from MMFF
2011 mustang GT California Special,6 speed manual with 373`s goes 12.69 @ 113.
Back up run yields a 12.70 @ 113
just bolting on some slicks that`s 2 inches shorter than stock wheels goes a best of (wait for it ) 12.34 @ 110.

Steve- All i'm saying is people are not going to be going and hitting the tracks and popping off 10s like some of the nut swingers will have you believe. Like i said, this is ONE car owned by a performance shop. Cool car? Yes. Absolutly! I love to see an American car company come out with the best of the best. But be realistic....Is the 2011 5.0 so unstopable that if Jesus Christ and Santa Claus joined forces that not even they would be able to stop the earth from being stopped in its revolutions due to how fast this thing is. Fuck no.
We will see soon enough when these cars start hitting the streets. I'll be the first one to admitt defeat if they are all they are cracked up to be. But i seriously doubt anyone that buys one will gut it and run skinnies and slicks with a drag suspension. The cars will more then likely still be curb weight and run about as fast as Terminator Cobras. Remember a bone stock Termi went 12 flat too I do like the N/A power though. No heat soak!

True that, show me another Mustang owner defending an LS motor or Corvette's honor on a Mustang thread
At first Dwight, I honestly thought you were just bothered that the Termy might just finally be dethroned as the top dog of Mustangs to date (and by a GT even!). I would be lol. But I understand now your just saying it like you see it.

Well.... i like my Termi but i will say this. Knowing what i know now, back when i bought the cobra i would have bought a C5 ZO6 instead....

fair enough
*edit*
There is one thing you might have to admit though. the terminator cobra will be worth more in the long run than a c5 or c6, even z06 versions. The vettes hold quality longer but for some reason I believe the termi is going to be a well sought after vehicle about 10 years after they become cheap enough for kids to afford and they all get wrecked.
like the MKIV tt supra

But as i start to move on from my 03/04 Cobra i would consider a new GT. Low price and good n/a power for sure! But with bolt-ons i would be right back to where my car is now....I want n/a power and alot faster then my Mustang is now for under 40k with good build quality. Ford has VERY good built quality in the new Mustangs for sure! I just can't see not spending a couple grand more and getting the C6 Z is all.
Remember i'm a Dodge guy that drives a Ford and loves the LSX motors.

^ or how about you buy a kenne bell, a return style fuel system, and a straight axle? even though I would rather drive a z06 in 9/10 circumstances and plan on owning one in the under 5 year future, to me there would be nothing more sweet than a new edge mustang able to put cocky z06 owners in there place (even modded ones).
but who am I to talk. I'm a mustang guy driving a gm car who loves supras

Problem there is bolt on Z's still edge out KB Cobras. Rule of thumb is the Termi needs 100 whp to even make it a race with a Z. And still the Z pulls all day long up top on the termi. Cam Z's utterly destroy them. And then it's still a shitty built new edge. For what i spend on the KB, fuel system, and axle i could mod a Z with heads/cam and beat ZR-1's.
I have to agree that the 03/04 Cobra's will be a collectors item in the future but so will the C6 Z's because of their very large demand. The GT-500's have really tanked lately. There was one with under 30k on it that made 550rwhp for sale and the guy wanted $29,000 for it. I think that's getting to be more of a realistic price for that car.
What does a Supra with 50k on it go for now??

50k or less, I'd say right around $30k+ for the relatively bone stock ones. Those cares are sick pricey to mod though from what I hear. I've seen some heavy modified ones in the $60 to even 100k price range regardless of miles.

This kid from town, who btw is a huge douche, just ask Moparkid, just got back from Iraq about a year ago and bought a 93?? or 94?? Supra from an old dude out east for $20k. Does that sound like b.s. to you no matter the miles? The kid is a real story teller so i doubt it's true but i did see him with the car. It has exhaust now and a boost controller i think.

Well all I have to say is THE ZO6 IS THE KING OF ALL CAR'S. Thats why when you go to the drag strip thet are all over the place and the all run 10's or faster and everybody who doesnt have one wants one. But in the real world the drag strip in full of Mustangs and F-Bodys because they really are easy to make fast and make good street strip car's.

The Bugatti Veyron runs tens and how many of those do you see at the track. How many you see has nothing to do with what we are talking about. I see more Mustangs run 13's then 10's.
BTW..... Let the excuses fly!
Good stuff starts @ 2:00
In 3.....

Don, you know how much we like to rib one another.

The talk on the GTO board is that SS was not stock. I do think that is the case unfortunately.
THOUGH...... a GTO guy saw an '11 GT at atco... 13.3 was all he could muster......

I don't expect every new mustang owner to take their car into the 10's. I do think the average enthusiast will be somewhere in the elevens. There are now three 2011 mustangs in the 10's with minimal mods and a small shot of nitrous. I am very interested in seeing how far this engine will go before failure, or internal engine mods. It's about time ford made a N/A engine worth having. I also find it funny how the GM loyalists don't want to give any credit to the new powerplant.

I'm loyal to nothing. Everything has a place with me. 4G63 power plant gave me years of love and hate, one of my more favorites, but there is SO much to choose from.
I think we all give credit to to Ford stepping up and making an awesome power plant. You can't argue that at all. It's that it's not the end all be all, no one has ever done this in a bolt on car with a shot of juice that some seem to present it as such.
I'm also interested in the longevity of these.
The JPC car (10.58) has some drive train goodies also .....4.56:1 gears, 31 spline axles with C-clip eliminators, and a spool..... that's gotta help with the launch
If someone were to schmuck my GTO.... I'd REALLY be thinking about one.
