"We're running the factory 6 speed with a Mcleod RXT twin disc clutch kit. So far so good. We're gonna try and put her in the 8's with the stock tranny. We'll report back if anything breaks before then"
After several weeks we finally got to bring our 2010 GT500 home to put a few miles on the new motor. We'll be breaking it in and then it's off to the dyno over at UPR Products. All of the tuning will be done by Jon Lund of Lund Racing. The car is equipped with a built motor by Al Papitto which features a Ford GT aluminum block, CP Pistons, Manley I-Beam Rods, Custom Cams and a massive head port and polish job done by Chris from Champion Racing Heads. We also have the first ever 4.0L Whipple supercharger with the Super Cobra Jet Crusher Inlet and 140mm MAF to ever be run on a production GT500. We're supplying the fuel with our Triple pump return style fuel system which features (3) Walbro GSS342 pumps, Fore Precision Works Fuel Hat, Fore Precision Rails, Fore Precision Y-Block and an Aeromotive Pro-Series EFI Regulator. Our exhaust combo starts with American Racing Headers 1-7/8" Longtubes with a 3" X-pipe which flows 3" all the way back through a Magnaflow 3" catback featuring Magnapack 3" mufflers. In addition to that the front suspension was done by BMR fabrication and the rear suspension was done with Steeda. We're running a Mcleod RXT twin disc clutch kit and a DSS 3.5" aluminum driveshaft. Stay tuned as we'll be sure to post a bunch of dyno vids in the next few days.

FWIW two years ago we went to byron there were two c5 vettes there that drove in on 17inch drag radials one with a procharger the other with some turbo combo both ran 9's one 9.80's the other 9.40's both still had IRS

Think there might be a goat or two in the 8's with the IRS also... it's too bad they suck though

More proof of fail. This Kenny Bell Condor can't run with even a intake/tune Z. GT-500 put down 640rwhp.
Those cars are pretty close to being seperated by the skill of their drivers. I don't see either one pulling away... I would say that that modded Cobra is still going to come in cheaper that the z06. Both cars are more badd ass than 98% of the stuff driving around here (including what you or I own)..
"You would be surprised what cars have trouble with that "505 factory rated car". I've seen highly modded LS1 fbodys, Supras, older C5s, all go down to stock C6Zs. They're under light as fuck, a 427 that makes a huge powerband revving to 7,000rpms+ with great gearing for the expressway and awesome aerodynamics, Not easy cars to take down on high mph roll race like that, even with a big HP advantage..."
we can post videos back and forth but what does that prove? I'd like to see this new stang do well other then that we are compairing cocks and that is gay

That's the last thing we need to start doing .. I think it's about time to change the subject, just not too much tech/repair mod. sutff being discussed...
Dude i can go buy a C6 ZO6 right now for 37k and mod it for $400.00. How is that modded gt-500 going to come in less then that???? The GT500 is not even a race for the Z. After 4th gear the GT500 is Bantha fodder.

Most races are settled before 4th gears runs out.. Just don't know too many cars that would be matched close enough to hang even past this point..

The Z gets it done before 4th anyways. Just adds insult to injury. I always shift into 4th when racing. I'm starting to wonder how much and what you've raced. You should just race one and find out.

I was trying to state who runs out of 4th gear (exp 4th to 5th,5th to 6th) before a race is decided). I prefer to run from a roll 5-100, or 40-120, roll racing is much easier on my IRS...
